“We are all wired uniquely. It is hopeless to compare one with another. Our humanity is the commonality we can all share.”
REFLECTION
◆
Comparison is one of the quiet thieves of clarity. It persuades us to measure our lives by the visible achievements of others rather than by the responsibilities entrusted to us.
Each life carries its own configuration of temperament, experience, strengths, and limitations. What comes naturally to one person may require great effort from another. The paths that lead one person toward fulfillment may not suit another at all.
Yet beneath these differences lies a shared humanity. We all wrestle with doubt, long for meaning, and seek belonging. Recognizing this common ground softens rivalry and invites humility.
When comparison loosens its grip, attention returns to stewardship. Instead of asking why another’s path appears easier or more celebrated, we begin asking a quieter and more useful question: What has been entrusted to me?
The task is not to imitate another person’s life. It is to faithfully cultivate the life that is uniquely yours.
